The edte window.  This window (obtained with the edte command) allows you to check the temperature of your sample.  Click change to set a new temperature.  This method automatically sends the new temperature to the temperature controller.  The alternative method, "te" to set the temperature parameter in a dataset, must be followed by "teset" to send the new temperature to the temperature controller.

It is a good idea to use "te" to set the temperature parameter in the HSQC dataset before it is run. Although leaving the wrong temperature set in the dataset does not actually influence the temperature during data acquisition, it does cause the processing program to retrieve the wrong temperature for its calcuations. Although this can be corrected later, recording the correct temperature in the dataset gives stronger documentation and less chance for error later.
