Q. Do I need a special approval from the radiation safety office to work with 13C
or 15N?
A. No, 13C and 15N are both stable isotope
s (they do NOT emit any kind of particle), and hence
they can be treated with the same kind of safety precautions that one exercises
with any other non-radioactive chemical.
